Over past ten years No Bad Ideas has been expanding its reach around the globe. We have met many wonderful people and have heard some amazing stories along the way. Our customers are what make this work, and we very grateful for all the support we have received through the years! This experience as well as our own personal journeys have motivated us to use our platform to give back in a way that has meaning to us and will be beneficial to all. As a result, we are instituting a new program called the Clear Mind Initiative (CMI). This platform will help raise awareness on the struggles of mental health. Whether it affects you directly or someone close to you, mental health is something that resonates with everyone. We will be partnering with the National Alliance of Mental Illness and starting on July 1, 2018, we will be donating $1 for each item sold towards the cause.
The National Alliance of Mental Health mission is to secure better funding for research, protecting access to treatment and services, and to attain mental health parity to ensure that mental illness is treated equally to physical illness. Mental health is so important because it enables people to have healthy relationships, handle the normal stresses of day to day life, and ultimately grow/reach your full potential. Listed below are some important facts with regards to mental illness:
Fact #1: While 1 in 5 Americans live with a mental disorder, estimates indicate that nearly two-thirds of all people with a mental illness do not see treatment.
Fact #2: 20 to 25 percent of the homeless population in the United States suffers from some form of mental illness. Stigma leads to fear, mistrust, and violence against people living with mental illness and causes family and friends to turn their backs on people with mental illness.
Fact #3: Between 25 and 40 percent of all Americans with mental illness will at some point pass through the criminal justice system. Stigma leads to prejudice and discrimination and poor treatment of those with mental illness.
Mental illness has a wide grasp on society and we want to do our part in making a difference. When we are absent of depression, anxiety, addictions, psychological problems, we are more able to live our lives to the fullest. Peace of mind is a natural condition and is available to all. No Bad Ideas wants to do its part in making this happen!
